Finally!!! After a year of wanting to start a blog, I have done it!!! Now to find the time to type a few words here and there!!! The have many reasons for starting this blog. Here is the list:
1. I am the coupon queen! I never pay full price for anything! I plan on posting links for coupons and discounts for various things that I use regularly! I will also have links to SF Bay Area activities with discounts! I believe every little bit helps! Here are the first deals from Carters and Osh Kosh. Let me know if the links do not work.

2. I like to call myself the "Hispanic Supernanny". I am not perfect by any means, but I have techniques and strategies to manage the most difficult behaviors. Remember, I worked with kids/ teenagers with head injuries and psych patients. I have also worked with psych patients with head injuries! Here's my first piece of advice. I believe in pointing out every little thing you child does right! Too many times parents ride their kids about all they do wrong. What does this tell the child? The only time I get attention is when I am misbehaving. If that's the only way I get it, then misbehave I must!!! I am hoping to someday consult in homes to help parents.
3. Anyone dealing with a bully at their child's school??? I don't care how old they are. Whether it's pre-school or cyberbulling in 10th grade. Research has shown most teenage bullies were bullies in elementary school or were bullied themself. It's the "if I can's beat them, join them". I will take on any school and support any family. If your school does not give you the answers you want, tell me!!! We had a horrible experience in a private school with a bully. The school made us feel like we were "rocking the boat". You know victimize the victim. I have already joined a mom to speak with a principal about bullying that was going on with her son. I SAY BRING IT!!!
4. Many of you know I am all about burn prevention. I spent eight years rehabing burn patients ages 2 days old (yes 2 days old) to 95 years old. My first piece of advice, "Make your kitchen a no play zone". I remember playing with Tupperware as a child at my mom's feet as she cooked. HUGE NO NO!!! When cooking gate off the kitchen if possible, use a play and pack, place child in highchair, etc. Teach your kids at a young age the meaning of hot. This way when they are older they will "get it". I always tell my kids (and make sure you have their attention) "the kitchen is hot" when I begin cooking. It works!!! My son at age two asked me "is the kitchen hot" before he entered. Brought tears to my eyes! I was so proud!
5. Of course I will include crazy stories about the happenings in my life!!! How could I not?!
Please pass this along to any parent!!! My goal is to reach thousands!!!
